Looking for communicator, creator, and administrator


Title: Communication & Administration Coordinator


Hours: 15 - 20 hours a week


Location: Virtual (with the possibility of in-person meetings as needed)


Pay: $17 - $25 an hour, depending on qualifications and experience

Organizational Background: See Stories builds inclusive communities with film and story, and received 501(c)3 nonprofit status in 2019. We have had one employee (the Director) and are now looking to hire a virtual part-time staff person for a 6-month contract (with the possibility of extension). We are in an exciting time of growth as a relatively new nonprofit, and are looking for someone who can bring their passion and skill set to support this journey.


Job Description: Since See Stories is a small nonprofit, we are looking for someone who can provide support to the Director in a variety of areas related to communications and administration, specifically:

  • Maintaining blog and social media presence: Many wonderful stories and projects are happening with See Stories all the time, and we would like someone who can document and share those stories on Facebook, Instagram, Patreon, our blog, and newsletter.

  • Grant reporting: Many of our projects are grant funded, and we are looking for someone to support our grant reporting / documentation.

  • Admin: Each project comes with different administrative tasks ranging from collecting interview release forms to organizing google drive folders. Admin duties will be determined collaboratively by employee and Director on a week-to-week basis as responsibilities and projects evolve, making sure that duties can be accomplished in the allocated hours.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Creator: Depending on the unique skills and interests of the person who fills this role, they can initiate a mission-connected project / workshop, or support a component of an existing workshop / project. Please know that this can be a large or small part of the job, depending on where the applicant’s interests lie.

While our primary goal with this position is to keep up with our ever-increasing workload, we recognize the need for our associate to grow and learn in ways that are meaningful to them as well as the mission of See Stories. We are looking for a self-starter with strong communication and organization skills who is passionate about our mission. We would love to hire someone who lives in Anchorage or elsewhere in Alaska, but are open to working with someone who lives elsewhere.
